Prestigious international law firm is seeking a Litigation Paralegal for their Public Law section.  

Duties will include:

Tracks deadlines and relevant information on attorney cases through calendar entries; distributes information regularly.

Reviews correspondence and documents to ensure timely and appropriate responses.

Performs cite-checking on briefs; prepares and reviews documents for appendix to briefs.

Prepares protective order certifications, identifies and gathers documents included in protective order and follows procedures for distribution and handling.

Reviews discovery requests; organizes responsive documents and prepares filing with appropriate agency and counsel. 

Maintains in-house logs for confidential documents and productions.

Monitors legislative committees of interest to clients; performs research on issues as needed and obtains specific legislative Bills as requested by attorney(s).

Prepares and organizes exhibits for briefs, hearings, and depositions, including exhibit list.

Reviews and summarizes new petitions or applications; obtains relevant pleadings and orders; drafts responding motions if needed.

Maintains list of pending matters and the status; maintains documents, pleadings, and orders in digital files.

Prepares and organizes documents for annual meeting of clients; provides attorneys with necessary information for presentations at the meeting.

Obtains and distributes Commission Open Meeting agendas to attorneys; pulls relevant filings if necessary; monitors live broadcast of meeting and provides summary if needed.

Obtains hearing transcripts and exhibits; prepares notebooks of same for attorneys.
